A little about Bath

The city of Bath, in Somerset in the South of England is both one of the most historic and picturesque cities in England and sees a large number of visitors annually both from within the UK and throughout the World.
Bath is probably best known for it’s origins as a Roman Spa in AD 43 which is where the name Bath originates from.

Bath is made up of a number of smaller areas including Coombe Down, Clavertondown, Landsdown, Charlcoombe and Widcombe. The city itself is actually relatively small and even if you are not planning to hire a car you should be able to get around with relative ease.
If you are planning to go further afield, you can hire a car in Bath and drive to Bristol which is just 13 miles away or, for the more adventurous, London is just over 115 miles away and takes about 2 and a half hours by car.

If you have been staying in Bath but are planning to move on to another destination, we are able to arrange one way car hire from Bath, however charges do apply for this service so you should contact us for details.

Things to see and do around Bath

One of the most common reasons for hiring a car in Bath is that there is so much to see and do just a short drive from the city. Stonehenge is just a 50 mile drive away and is one of the most popular destinations in the South of England. Another area of outstanding beauty close by is Cheddar Gorge or for the animal lovers out there, Longleaf Safari park.

It is possible to use public transport to get to most of the areas of interest surrounding Bath but for more flexibility you might find it more convenient to hire a car as many of the transport services are restricted to certain time of the day and week.
